When Water Heater Repair Makes Sense in League City
A failing water heater doesn’t automatically mean you need a new one. A lot of the calls we take around Conroe come down to a single worn part, and that’s a simple repair.
The general rule: if your tank is under about ten years old and the tank body itself isn’t leaking, a repair is usually the right call. A bad heating element, a failed thermostat, a stuck valve, or a faulty igniter costs a fraction of a full replacement. Once a heater passes twelve years, rusts through, or leaks from the tank body, replacement makes more sense.
Water quality moves that timeline here. Conroe’s city water runs hard, and plenty of homes outside the city limits and around Lake Conroe run on private wells, which carry even more minerals and iron. All of that settles into the bottom of the tank as sediment, making the heater work harder and age sooner. We’ll look at your unit and tell you honestly which side of that line it’s on.
